THE TREASURES I FOUND AT THE MALL LAST WEEK

Balenciaga Luna clutch - Eur 280

Stella McCartney mini-skirt/shorts - Eur 150

I haven't gone to the Mall for 2 months and I was really desperate to go as most of my designer findings came from there. There were a lot of pieces to buy this time I didn't know how I could cope with the lack of money of this period. I'm still trying to recover from having bought my Balenciaga leather jacket  in London 2 months ago (that was from the boutique, so full retail price tag, that's why), but I had a "few" euro to spend and I decided for these 2 amazing pieces, the Balenciaga clutch I was lusting for since I saw it under my friend Louise's arm and the Stella shorts made my legs looked so long when I tried them on I coudn't help getting them.
I'm just so unmanageable!

LOOKS OF THE WEEK

I really like that belt from Matthew Williamson for H&M and I also like that Mary-Kate (sure?) flashes out the outfit with that electric blue/purple long sweater. On the other hand, the bag is a splash of colour and a good idea to match the rest of the look (and the colours are the right ones) but I don't like the print.
Stella is always Stella! She wore one of her look at Milan International Furniture Fair and it was perfect! I have to try it (the long boyfriend jacket with nothing under) on my next night out

No, no, no Sienna, you're still missing the point here... it just doesn't seem your style. I got the feeling I'm being too much unforgiving with her , but I can't say I like her latest outfits. The one here is not bad at all, but what surprise me is that it is nothing special. The bag is the only piece I really like, very-this-moment. Com'on Sienna, give us one of your usual inspiring look!

If the picture of Diane Kruger below wasn't part of the looks of this week (actually it should have been on last week's post) this look from Chloè would surely be my favourite of the week for sure. Even if don't like wearing those colours (they don't look good with my skin tone - pale olive), I must admit she looks amazing. What I love is the leopard printed tank and the Chloè multi-strap wedges I absolutely want to buy myself this season!

As I said, this photo should not belong to this week's post but she is just sooo elegant and feminine that even if I found it out later on I decided to post it anyway.
The impression I got is that the dress maybe would have been more appropriate for an older lady but it is very glamorous and the fact she has a classic face and figure makes it perfect for her though.

It seems really weird to me that everyone everywhere (in magazines, blogs or even on tv shows) is talking and reviewing every single fall/winter 2010 catwalk show and nobody takes care of the pre-fall designer collections??? WHY? Neither I had the occasion of thinking about this whole world of new pieces that will be put on sales first in shops when a couple of days ago I found a complete list of all the pre-fall collections at style.com!
The pictures above are a small selection of my favourite ones:
I'm totally deserate to have that fur coat from Ysl (1st pic) and most of the other photos of Stefano Pilati collection were reflecting the same austere and monochrome designs he proposed since last fall which I found very elegant and feminine.
I must say that Lanvin pre-collection is even better than the collection itself! I felt in love with the metallic dress and the belted rounded coat. Alber Elbaz said that looking glamorous is a feminine survival instinct towards the recession of these times and he showed us how to make this happen.
Givenchy did nothing too innovative or different from his latest designs while Stella surprised me a lot with that zebra printed dress (the other one with the metallic holes reminds me a lot of Givenchy 2007 collection).

MAD ABOUT STELLA

The following pictures from Stella's catwalk show during Fall/Winter Paris fashion week prove why my never-ending love for her has its reasons unless we say that love knows reasons that mind doesn't know (it sounds like this in Italian at least!)...

Let's star with this dress, my favourite exit from the show: it's typically Stella for the colours and the geometric (but not too rigid) print and if you look under it you will realize you cannot survive without those skin-tight knicker-heigh boots (obviously in faux leather)

Many people in the audience were wearing oversized boyfriend jackets matched with skinny pants or leggings and ankle boots or silky jumpsuits, both Stella signature pieces from Stella previous collections. And this show is not going to disappoint any of her affectionated followers: oversized blazers, cocoon-shaped coats (I'd die to have one) and jumpsuits were the real stars of the catwalk again.

I love this creamy/nude blouse with balloon sleeves, soo romantic! and I really like the skinny trousers too with a lace band on the side paired with kind of mens' shoes (the contrast I always look for).

I think this is quite a different outfit for Stella. I like that she tried (with very good results) to make it rock-chicer than she used to. The leather biker jacket (what a great colour!) matched with that beautiful airy purple (the right shade) dress... uhmmmm, I love it!

This is the coat we were talking about before, nothing too particular or noticeable but so beautiful in the purity of the cut and in its semplicity. The tiny belt around the waist makes it more up-to-date and the buttoned high neck is very elegant and gives a bit of mystery to it. No comment about the boots: they're fabulous!
