Waiting for THE MET 2009 - the Costume Institute Gala

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady

Stella McCartney and Kate Moss

Claudia Schiffer with Valentino

Every year this is the red-carpet event I expect the most, even more than the Oscars themselves!
This year is going to take place on Monday 4th of May (here we are!) and its theme has been set as "Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion" and I strongly have the sensation it will be the most fashionable ever!
It wants to prove that models have always served as fashion designer muses along different eras, ispiring and embodying the trends of the seasons.
Marc Jacobs who will serve the night's honorary chair (together with Kate Moss, Justine Timberlake and Anna Wintour) said: "The idea of muses or models, whether it is someone you know or someone you have seen in an image, somoeone of your imagination or a creature of your own invention, is important to every designer and every collection".
When he was asked if there was in his opinion a representative model of the muse theme, he mentioned Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell but then he admitted that the best example of it was Kate Moss, saying that "the images of Kate Moss by Corinne Day and Juergen Teller changed fashion. That was a moment when we looked at beauty and glamour in a different way, and I think Kate still embodies the style and change of ideals and the way we now look at beauty and glamour and perfection and imperfection".

Marc Jacobs will also be dressing Madonna in Louis Vuitton. Calvin Klein will be clothing Halle Berry and Diane Kruger, the one I am truly waiting for, by Karl Lagerfeld.
Rachel Bilson will be dressed head to toe by Brian Atwood, while Jessica Stam will be in Rodarte, Lily in Narciso Rodriguez and Liya Kebede in Derek Lam.
Nobody knows yet who Claudia Schiffer will be dressed by, nor Christy Turlington or Eva Herzigova.
While waiting for the event to begin (can't wait!), I decided to post just some of my last year's fave outfits (the theme was "Superheroes"), courtesy of handbag.com
